A warm cup of tea always makes me feel like it does something good for my body and soul, but more so for my body. Tea is something that I drink everyday, and I have various types of teas, depending on the situation or occasion. Have you ever heard of the teatox that Kendall Jenner does during fashion week to detoxify her body? That’s exactly what tea does – it cleanses your body to support a healthier immune system. Tea is rich in antioxidants and each type of tea leaf serves it’s purpose. On my quest for better skin, properly functioning organs and immune system, I’ve compiled a list of my top tea recommendations that you can incorporate into your daily life. Although these teas are extremely beneficial for your body, the type of tea brand you drink these teas is important to consider. Be mindful of brands that bleach their tea bags with chlorine or that are made with traces of plastic. It’s always best to drink organic teas that are free of pesticides, toxins, artificial ingredients, and added flavors. The most trusted brands that I have found to be are Traditional Medicinals, Numi Organic Tea, and Dragon Herbs, which produce these teas from my list:
1. Dandelion tea
Have you ever had a night of too much drinking, consuming unhealthy food or sodium that it made you feel bloated or off kilter? When that happens to me, I drink large amounts of dandelion tea because it detoxifies your liver and debloats your body. I feel like this type of tea is underrated and needs more exposure to the public. I enjoy this one by Traditional Medicinals Organic Roasted Dandelion Root Herbal Tea 2-Pack;32 Count. Check out the additional benefits this tea provides:
- Improves digestion and aids weight loss
- Helps to purify the bladder, kidneys and blood
- Reduces the risk of urinary tract infections
- Contains calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, potassium, vitamins B & C
- Regulates blood sugar and improves blood circulation
- Helps to ease aching joints and cure skin conditions
2. Pau d’arco
I love sipping on this tea everyday and throughout the day. There’s only a hint of flavor, so it doesn’t overbearingly taste like bark or a plant. This is an herb with loads of antioxidants that fights inflammation, is antifungal, antiviral, and antiparasitic. As a result, it helps treat a wide variety of illnesses like the cold, flu, smoker’s cough, tuberculosis, pneumonia, candida, cancer, lupus, diabetes or fibromyalgia. Any tea made by the Traditional Medicinals brand is always high quality Traditional Medicinals Pau D’Arco Tea, 16 Tea Bags (Pack of 6)
3. Elderberry
This tea is loaded with vitamin C and powerful antioxidants! When I came down with a bad cold a few months ago, drinking this tea helped nurse me back to health much faster, compared to when I would contract a cold and not consume this tea. It’s been shown that drinking this tea when you have a cold or flu can break a fever, reduce aches and pains, and break up the congestion that build up in your lungs. Traditional Medicinals Naturally Caffeine Free Herbal Tea, Echinacea Plus Elderberry, 16 pk 0.85 oz( 1 Pack )
4. Longevity tea – Gynostemma based tea
This is truly the healthiest tea on earth! It offers anti-aging and anti-stress benefits, and it’s naturally sweet with zero sugar. It’s an adaptogenic herb that helps maintain the efficiency of the metabolic, neurological, immunologic, respiratory and endocrine systems. This is the brand I buy: Dragon Herbs Spring Dragon Longevity Tea Caffeine Free — 20 Tea Bags
5. Peppermint
I enjoy drinking this tea after eating to help keep my digestion system regulated. That’s because peppermint aids in weight loss and cures bad breath. Because this tea contains the herb carminative, it helps move gas throughout the body to prevent bloating, cramping, and stomach discomfort. TRADITIONAL MEDICINALS TEA,OG2,PEPPERMINT, 16 BAG
6. Matcha tea
When I decided to cut out coffee, I thankfully discovered this amazing tea powder that’s derived from Japan. It offered me similar benefits of coffee, like keeping me alert and focused, but without the jittery side effects. Religious matcha tea drinkers often refer to this experience as the “alert calm.” The benefits of this tea far outweigh what coffee and regular green tea offers as it’s made up of green tea leaves that have been broken down into powder form. Green tea is already full of antioxidants, so you can only imagine how many more antioxidants are jam packed into this powerful powder! It provides small amounts of vitamins and minerals, the antioxidants it contains called polyphenols have been tied to protection against heart disease and cancer, as well as better blood sugar regulation, blood pressure reduction, and offers anti-aging benefits. Matcha also contains another polyphenol called EGCG, which research has shown to boost your metabolism, as well as slow or halt the growth of cancer cells. Matcha Green Tea Powder – Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha – Shade Grown in Japan for a Unique Flavor – Has a Delicate Energy Boost and can work as a Weight Loss Tea – Sealed 1oz Tin for Freshness
7. Chamomile
I refer to this herbal tea as my bedtime drink. I like drinking this tea in the evening, right before I go to bed because of the calming effects it offers. I also tend to drink this tea during the daytime when I need to calm my nerves if I’m experiencing stress or anxiety. This herb has been around for centuries, so it’s not only used to treat sleep issues, but has also been helpful in relieving an upset stomach. Traditional Medicinals – Organic Chamomile, 16 bag

I’ve never had dandelion tea! What do you suggest if someone wants to watch their caffeine intake?
Hi Brian – I think you’ll enjoy the dandelion tea 🙂 Are you looking to completely cut out caffeine, or get it from other teas that weren’t on the list?
Thanks so much for telling me about some teas that I’ve not heard of! Where do you recommend getting the Pau d’arco and Longevity tea? I’m excited to try them.
Thanks!!
Lauren
You’re very welcome! I buy them on Amazon, so I’ve added the links for you in the post 🙂
